Letter from the Principal

Dear Our Lady of Guadalupe Families,
It is with great excitement and gratitude that I am able to serve as principal at Our Lady of Guadalupe School. I have been blessed to work in three wonderful schools in the Archdiocese of Galveston/Houston. I am looking forward to returning to this community, where I started my career as a teacher in catholic education.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Our Lady of Guadalupe School website. I hope that your “virtual visit” provides you with the information and insight into our mission and philosophy, as well as our programs. We are very proud of our school and look forward to sharing some of its many benefits through the information contained on this website.

Our Lady of Guadalupe School is a fully accredited Catholic school in the Galveston-Houston Archdiocese servicing students in Pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. We are blessed to have a dedicated faculty and staff committed to providing an exceptional education tailored to meet the needs of all learners.
This year Our Lady of Guadalupe School begins its 103rd year educating students in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. As the new principal for Our Lady of Guadalupe School, I am honored to be a part of a school community that is focused on instilling Catholic character, strengthening academic excellence and empowering students to serve others.
My first weeks here have been filled with experiences that embody a caring and nurturing community, and I look forward to serving the students and families of Our Lady of Guadalupe as we educate your children in mind, heart and spirit.
As we move forward to a new school year, I ask for your prayers, for the students, faculty, staff and families; and you will remain in our prayers.  Together we will fulfill the mission for Catholic Schools within the Archdiocese as we educate and form leaders who will transform the world for Christ and the Church.

I invite you to visit and to tour our school. Come witness the spirit of Our Lady of Guadalupe School in action.  I look forward to assisting you this next year and may God bless you and your family as we embark on this educational journey together.

Sincerely in Christ,
Irazema S. Ortiz
