PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE:

Welcome back for the school year 2018-2019.  The first few days of school have gone very smoothly. The children are happy and are settling into their routines quickly. I would like to welcome all of the new families to Our Lady of Guadalupe School. You come from near and far and add to the rich tapestry of cultures that make up the Our Lady of Guadalupe School community.

As we settle back into the routine of school for the start of 2018 our children are experiencing the comfortable, familiar rhythm and routine of school. A new school year is always exciting. Our focus will be on providing each child with new challenges that will result in a rewarding school experience.

As we enter this new school year, I am thrilled and thankful to be surrounded by such dedicated and devoted staff members, parents and students. I know with all of us working together the many achievements will be joyously celebrated and the challenges will be overcome. Thanks for helping us continue to work together for the growth, development and safety of all students

Please help us welcome our new faculty and staff to Our Lady of Guadalupe! You will have the opportunity to meet them at our Back to School Night, which will be held in two weeks.

This year Back School Night will be divided into two days and by grade levels due to the limited parking in our parking lots. On August 29th, we welcome families with students in grades PreK3-4th. On Thursday, August 30th, we will host grade levels 5th -8th.  Back to School night is from 5:30- 7:45pm.

We will begin with informative school details in the school gymnasium from 5:30- 6:30. We will have two sessions in the classrooms: 6:45-7:10 and 7:15-7:40. These two sessions will benefit families with multiple siblings.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic School uses FACTS Tuition Management to collect student tuition.  Families choosing payments must use this payment program.  All payments spread over 10 months. You may choose to have your payment taken out of your checking or savings account on either the 5th or the 20th of each month.

All families should have paid the Academic fee already, if you have not paid this fee you will be invoiced this week. Families that have not set up Facts Tuition Management Accounts and have not paid the first month’s tuition will also receive an invoice.

The 2nd Round of Tuition Award letters were emailed last week, if you have any questions, please contact Veronica Echavarria vechavarria@olgschoolhouston.org.

Our goal is and always has been to provide the highest quality of education for your child. If you have any questions regarding financial assistance and/or tuition programs, please feel free to contact the school office at your earliest convenience.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic School needs all our families to participate in 15 hours of volunteer service. Families are required to pay $10.00 per hour for uncompleted service hours as of May 20, 2019.  Please log hours atwww.trackitforward.com

I look forward to working with each of you for the success of your children. We are told. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29 11) Let’s work together for the future God has planned.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call. I look forward to working with you and your child throughout the school year to provide a productive and safe learning environment that supports student success

Finally, please review all the important updates and reminders below.

Sincerely in Christ,

Irazema S. Ortiz
